Hospital room cleaning does not get all bacteria, study says

Post-discharge cleaning still left 25% of hospital ICU rooms and 5.5% of sites within a room contaminated with drug-resistant bacteria, researchers reported in the American Journal of Infection Control. Researchers said the use of hydrogen peroxide vapor and ultraviolet light cleaning may be more effective but it increases turn-around time for the room.
