BNSF bolsters rail employment in Montana

BNSF hired more than 400 people in Montana this year, including 41 in Whitefish, and "freight trains could be a ticket out of the unemployment line," writes Matt Baldwin. Reasons behind the hiring spree involve attrition and preparing for future demand attributed to growth. "There will be a demand for more hiring next year, as well," said BNSF spokesman Gus Melonas.
