Experts: Widespread impact will result from 401(k) fee disclosures

More fee negotiations between plan sponsors and plan sellers, changes in the way costs are distributed across plans, and plan sponsors' increased scrutiny of services are a few of the effects 401(k) experts are predicting as new fee-disclosure rules go into effect next year. "As the fees start to be clearly displayed, these fiduciaries are going to be charged even more heavily with determining whether or not those fees are appropriate for their particular retirement plan," Verisight's Robert Stebbins said.
