SCAI part of effort to monitor safety of TAVI

The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention joined forces with several other cardiology and surgical groups to participate in a data registry effort to monitor both the safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures. The announcement of the TAVI monitoring comes on the heels of the FDA's approval of Edwards Lifesciences' Sapien transcatheter aortic valve.
