Air Force base in N.M. not opposed to wind projects, official says

Cannon Air Force Base in Curry County, N.M., is not opposed to wind projects near its boundaries, but it wants developers to communicate early with base officials and the Department of Defense to ensure that the turbines would not interfere with radar operations at the base, said John McDonald, a representative of Cannon, at a meeting with local officials and landowners. A Federal Aviation Administration official told those in attendance that communication with the base and the DOD is important because "they can give you an idea to what's least impactful to military radar and aviation."
