The Park Commission of Springfield, Mass., agreed to begin talks with MGM Resorts International over the company's plans to purchase a playground, improve a park and partner with two golf courses as part of the company's $800 million casino proposal in the South End. "I think this is a tremendous opportunity for the city of Springfield, potentially," commission Chairman Brian A. Santaniello said.
