U.S. energy imports to plunge by 2040, EIA report says

Oil and natural gas production, along with renewable energy, will help the U.S. reduce outside energy dependence by 2040, according to the Energy Information Administration. Shale natural gas production enabled by hydraulic fracturing technology will account for 30% of U.S. energy production by then, according to EIA.
