Virtual diagnosis service opens access to Pa. dermatologists

Seven dermatologists in Western Pennsylvania are offering Dermatologist on Call, an online diagnostic platform developed by dermatologist Mark Seraly, which allows patients to send photographs of skin lesions for diagnosis. Dermatologists review photos and can prescribe antibiotics as appropriate for easy-to-treat cases and prioritize appointments for patients when cancer is suspected. Dermatologists pay fees to use the Iagnosis platform, which enables them to review up to 20 cases an hour, Seraly says.
