Winnipeg, Manitoba, businesses object to higher sign tax

A proposal to dramatically raise tax rates for static billboards and digital signage has angered businesses in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with some saying the increases could put them out of business. If approved, the billboard fees would rise from $1.51 to $5.75 per square foot and the digital-sign tax would jump from $1.51 to $34.48.
