Topco unveils nutrition index for consumers, grocers

Topco Associates announced it will launch a food-scoring index that uses an algorithm incorporating 30 nutrient factors to rate food and beverage products on a scale of 1 to 100. The Overall Nutritional Quality index, developed by Yale Griffin Prevention Research Center health and nutrition experts, is designed to help consumers make more informed food purchases.
