Seal-hunting stigma deters use of animal's omega-rich oil

Seal oil used as nutrition for chickens raises the level of heart-healthy omega-3s in the eggs they lay. But Canadian farmers often avoid seal oil in favor of fish oil because of worries about seal harvesting, says Bud Hulan, a retired scientist. Seal oil doesn't break down or oxidize as fast as fish oil, he said.
