Verizon is said to be planning new streaming service

Verizon Communications reportedly aims to start a new streaming service in 2012 for TV shows and movies that would be separate from its existing TV services and would seek to rival Netflix and cable offerings. The streaming plan would be available in places where Verizon does not offer its FiOS broadband and TV service. Neither Verizon nor potential programming partners commented for this article.
