Nutrition experts take a cautious approach to diet soda

Researchers and nutrition experts say that while diet soda is a healthier choice than the regular, sugar-laden version, its consumption does not appear to affect weight loss and could carry other health risks. Kristin Kirkpatrick of the Cleveland Clinic's Wellness Institute says an occasional diet soda probably is OK, but frequent consumption can lead to a dependency on sweet flavors.
