Dengue outbreak in Australian city impacts blood supply

The Red Cross Blood Service in Townsville in north Queensland, Australia, has been forced to use only the plasma component in blood donations following the declaration of an outbreak of dengue fever. The restriction could be lifted three months following the last diagnosed case of the disease.
