Australian state focuses on attracting younger teachers

Officials in New South Wales, Australia, say it will be necessary to recruit and retain more young teachers to replace educators who are near retirement. About 30% of the state's teachers are younger than 35 -- a decrease from 1986, when more than half of teachers were younger than 35. In New South Wales, officials say they are seeking to attract young teachers through social media, scholarships and career fairs.
