Gannett and McClatchy note improving ad market

Improvement in national and retail advertising and modest gains in Sunday circulation have helped decelerate a decline in newspaper ad revenue at Gannett and McClatchy. Both companies said they've seen the market firm up a bit during the year. In particular, Gannett CEO Gracia Martore said November's ad market was "demonstrably better" than the company had expected.
