Roche expands coagulation testing portfolio with purchase

Roche plans to acquire Verum Diagnostica, a Munich-based firm that specializes in platelet function assays, for about $17.4 million in cash and milestone payments. The deal, which is expected to close next month, is intended to strengthen the company's position in the coagulation testing market.
