FairPoint gets final nod on $32M 9-1-1 contract in Maine

A five-year, $32 million contract for FairPoint Communications to build a next-generation 9-1-1 system will move forward in Maine after the final window for appealing an earlier Public Utilities Commission decision closed Wednesday. The PUC had twice awarded the contract to FairPoint, but the decisions were appealed by two rivals.
