IBTS releases 2007 annual report

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service in its 2007 annual report underlined the need to devise a plan to address the increasing demand for platelets, especially during the economic slowdown. The report also recommended the nationwide expansion of a program to synchronize blood-letting treatments with blood donations for Irish patients with the iron-accumulating condition hemochromatosis.
