Study: Low-dose PET/CT best for lymphoma staging

A Spanish study found that low-dose PET/CT achieved the best sensitivity and specificity for the initial staging of biopsy-proven non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma compared with contrast-enhanced CT. This imaging method could reduce the radiation dose and eliminate the need for intravenous iodinated contrast materials, the lead researcher said.
