Newark gets expanded security in $324M modernization

Travelers say renovations to the Terminal B security checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport are helping to reduce delays. The new checkpoint for concourse B-1 opened on Election Day, with one additional screening line and six times the floor space of the old checkpoint. The improvements were part of a $324 million Terminal B renovation project. Two additional checkpoints, at concourses B-2 and B-3, should be completed by March.
