RNs in high demand as nursing field continues to grow

The recession provided short-term relief, but retiring baby boomers will boost the national shortage of nurses from 8% this year to 12% in 2010 and 29% in 2020, officials say. Registered nurse are in high demand and annual salaries for RNs are good; however, a lack of nursing faculty and the costs of nursing school tuition contribute to the shortage.
