General Motors and Japanese firm Teijin are partnering to research a thermoplastic carbon fiber variant for mass production. The partnership will look into how thermoplastic carbon fiber composites can be made easier to produce and scaled for car production. "Our relationship with Teijin provides the opportunity to revolutionize the way carbon fiber is used in the automotive industry. This technology holds the potential to be an industry game changer," said GM Vice Chairman Steve Girsky.
