AAR president touts rail's environmental edge over trucks

Railroads have an environmental advantage over trucks that cannot reasonably be disputed, writes Edward Hamberger, president of Association of American Railroads, in an op-ed. He cited a recent study by the Federal Railroad Administration showing that rail was as much as 8.5 times more fuel-efficient than truck transport.
