District prepares food differently for students with allergies

School nutrition professionals in an Iowa district say they work to protect students with allergies to gluten, peanuts and other foods. The 70 students in the district with food allergies receive modified menu plans from a staff dietitian. Based on that menu, students receive different foods, and the way in which the food is prepared is changed.
