Obese teens have higher risk of diabetes in adulthood

Men and women who became obese as teens had a higher risk of developing diabetes compared with those who became obese as adults, a study in Diabetes Care found. The results underscore the importance of addressing obesity at a young age to reduce the risk of diabetes onset, researchers said.
