Diabetic foot ulcers increase likelihood of premature death

When patients with diabetes develop foot ulcers, it increases their chances of dying early, according to researchers at St. George's, University of London. The study of 17,830 patients with diabetes showed an additional 58 deaths per 1,000 people each year among those with diabetic foot ulcers.
