Study suggests overeating can predict drug use in youths

Data from the Growing Up Today Study involving 16,882 9- to 15-year-olds showed that those who had a habit of overeating or binge eating were more likely to use marijuana or other drugs. Researchers found that binge eating, not overeating, predicted the start of overweight or obesity as well as worsening depression symptoms. The findings appear in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
