Court denies request to suspend EPA's emissions-reduction rules

A federal appeals court rejected a petition from oil refiners and the state of Texas to postpone the Environmental Protection Agency's carbon-emissions rules, which would require companies to employ the "best available control technologies" to limit emissions. "Yet another blow was dealt in favor of overreaching government regulation and against the economic well-being of the American people," said Charles Drevna, president of the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association.
