Fitness instructors say barefoot exercise has advantages

Barefoot exercise, from running to aerobics, is gaining support among fitness instructors, including Ellen Barrett of Connecticut who says there is a "connectedness between foot and core and balance." Virginia instructor Ann Smith, 84, says she has always exercised while barefoot and that it makes for safer contact with the floor.
