AAR: TTCI gains UIC recognition for FAST initiative

Transportation Technology Center Inc. created the Facility for Accelerated Service Testing, or FAST, program initially to address "safety, technical and economic issues related to increased heavy axle loads." For doing that, the International Union of Railways awarded TTCI its Innovation and Railway Research Award under the "Rail Freight Services" category, according to the Association of American Railroads. "The work done at TTCI has helped to make railroads one of the world's most innovative, safe, and efficient forms of freight transportation," said AAR President and CEO Edward Hamberger.
