The health care industry will spark the spread of machine-to-machine communications in the U.S. while automakers will fuel the industry's growth's in Europe in 2013, according to German telecom Deutsche Telekom, the parent of T-Mobile USA, which has aggressive plans for the technology. The operator says that health insurance companies, which understand how connected devices help them save money, will begin to back the technology next year.
