HP goes full throttle with pay-as-you-go strategy

Hewlett-Packard says it's deploying managed-LAN offerings through telecom providers that let enterprises pay a monthly fee based on the number of ports used, providing greater efficiency and a lower price. The strategy doesn't come without some risk, experts say. "We are prepared to share the costs and share the risks with our customers," HP's Nick Watson says.
