Missouri assessor wants private and public clubs to pay same tax rate

A county assessor in St. Louis, Mo., claims private country clubs have unfair tax status since the state taxes them as residential communities instead of as commercial properties like their public course counterparts. Jake Zimmerman believes the clubs should be taxed at the same rate and plans to advocate for new legislation that would do so.
