House report targets Web sites selling controlled drugs

A report for U.S. lawmakers says about half of the 180 Web sites checked for the sale of controlled drugs, such as painkillers, anabolic steroids and sleeping pills, are run from computers in the U.S. and have been operating for more than a year. The report says a crackdown on the illicit sites could be effective because they are better established than many believed.
