Colorado to require disclosure of fracking chemicals

Energy companies will need to disclose hydraulic fracturing chemicals beginning in April under new rules approved by Colorado regulators. Companies will also have to disclose some data about chemicals that are deemed trade secrets, and give 48 hours' notice before injecting the chemicals into the ground. "[The process] yielded a good rule for the state and a workable rule for the industry," said Jep Seman, a lawyer representing the Colorado Petroleum Association.
