Nashville zoo giraffe dies during calf delivery

Despite the best efforts of zoo veterinarians and veterinarians from a local equine hospital, Savannah, the Nashville Zoo's 7-year-old Masai giraffe, died from complications during the delivery of her still-born calf, who was breech. A zoo spokesman expressed sadness at Savannah's death but also commended the efforts of those who tried to save the giraffe and her calf.
