App devs, ad networks anticipate post-holiday downloading spree

Developers are looking to increase their visibility in Apple's App Store and the Google Play store, as new devices given as gifts will mean a crush of mobile application downloads after the holidays. Ad networks are taking notice: Google is running ad products for developers to take advantage of app-related Web searches, and a Facebook executive touted that last month the company "drove 183 million clicks from the News Feed to the Apple App Store and Google Play."
