Autologous fat replaces implants in a new procedure

Autologous fat transfer may be a viable option for women who want their breast implants removed, according to a case study in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Massachusetts General Hospital plastic surgeon Daniel Del Vecchio injected fat into the subcutaneous space above a woman's implants before removing them at her request. Breast volume at one year was similar to preremoval volume.
