Location privacy bill moves out of Senate Judiciary Committee

The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to approve the Location Privacy Protection Act sponsored by Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn. The new law would require customer consent before tracking or sharing location data from a mobile device, and would ban secret monitoring of a mobile user's location.
