Navy prepares cuts to Reserve Expeditionary Force

The Navy is moving forward with plans to reduce the size of the Navy Reserve Expeditionary Force. Officials have ordered a 45% reduction in Navy Reserve construction forces, a move that will affect 6,000 sailors. "Despite these large reductions, the Reserve Component will remain a large and important contributor to the Navy Expeditionary Command's mission," said Rear Adm. Sandy Adams, deputy commander of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
