Delta to offer voluntary severance package

Delta Air Lines says it will offer voluntary severance packages to a majority of its 75,000 mainline employees, though the company won't say exactly how many positions it is looking to cut. Delta plans to cut capacity by up to 8% next year, reportedly hoping to do so entirely through attrition and voluntary severance programs, without resorting to layoffs.
