Stimulus spending on DOT projects tops $6.8B

Federal stimulus spending on construction projects rose to $6.818 billion as of Dec. 4, according to the Department of Transportation. That's up from $6.515 billion for the prior week and 22% since October. The stimulus funds are paying for highway, bridge and transit projects, among other things.
