Consumers look for deals, product info from retail apps

Users of mobile retail apps intended for use outside the store are mostly looking for coupons; a preview of in-store deals; directions; or information on whether a certain item is available, Accenture has found. Users of in-store apps are seeking "instant" coupons; additional product information via bar code scanning; and to deploy their smartphone as a loyalty card, according to Accenture.
