Tips for choosing nutritious holiday foods

Nutrition experts recommend navigating the holidays by avoiding fried and bacon-wrapped foods, and choosing shrimp, smoked salmon, vegetables, nuts and other nutritious fare. Chocolate-covered strawberries, at about 60 calories each, are "a pretty good calorie deal for a dessert," and contain antioxidants, said Bonnie Taub-Dix, author of "Read It Before You Eat It."
