European scientists call for investments in nanomedicine research

The European Science Foundation called on the governments on the continent to invest in nanomedicine research or risk falling behind the U.S. in producing new treatments for major illnesses such as cancer. One foundation member said EU states would end up importing new technologies from the U.S. and Japan if they fail to foster stepped-up development of the technology.
