Global smart meter revenues predicted to surge through 2016

Utility demand for next-generation billing solutions will drive a surge in revenues for providers of advanced metering technology, according to a report from IMS Research that predicts the market will grow to $13 billion by 2016. The bulk of the growth will occur between 2014 and 2015, analysts say, with demand in Europe and Asia making up for a leveling off in government funded smart meter deployments in the U.S.
