Low-glycemic foods best for lowering blood sugar

A study found a diet of low-glycemic foods such as beans and pasta is better than a high-cereal-fiber diet for lowering blood sugar in people with Type 2 diabetes. A separate study also found that people with Type 2 diabetes who are diagnosed with cancer have a greater risk of death than cancer patients who don't have diabetes. Both studies were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
