Researcher: Autism, schizophrenia develop from same error

Schizophrenia and autism are likely closely related disorders, says developmental psychologist Annemie Ploeger after reviewing studies on both disorders. Both disorders seem to trace back to a single developmental error that occurs in the first month of pregnancy, she says.
