Grant to fund development of tools for common core

The American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association and their teachers are working to develop tools to help implement Common Core State Standards, education reporter Catherine Gewertz writes in this blog post. Those tools will be posted online on the Student Achievement Partners' website. The three-year project is funded through an $11 million charitable grant. While there are few specifics about the type of tools that will be made available, organizers say teachers have requested help in building "coherent text sets."
